DOrSU earns PRC, PCAP recognition for 91.89% criminology board passing rate

Davao Oriental State University – Main Campus was recognized for its exemplary performance in the February 2026 Licensure Examination for Criminologists, after posting a 91.89 percent passing rate and producing one of the examination’s topnotchers.
The Professional Regulation Commission, through the Professional Regulatory Board of Criminology, awarded DOrSU a Certificate of Commendation for its outstanding performance among participating schools, colleges, and universities with 51 to 100 examinees and at least 80 percent passing percentage.
The University also received a Plaque of Recognition from the Professional Criminologists Association of the Philippines – Integrated Association of Criminologists, Region XI Chapter, during the recognition ceremony held on April 25, 2026, at the SMX Convention Center, SM Lanang Premier, Davao City.
Receiving the plaque on behalf of DOrSU were Dr. Rex S. Aparicio, Dean of the Faculty of Criminal Justice Education, together with faculty members Dr. Nonilito O. Carpio and Dr. Jeralyn N. Hemillan.
The ceremony also celebrated top-performing criminology graduates from the Davao Region, including DOrSU alumnus Mark Christian Balangue, who placed Top 4 in the February 2026 Criminologists Licensure Examination.
In his message during the recognition rites, Balangue credited DOrSU for helping shape his journey, saying the University trained, guided, and prepared him not only for the board examination but also for the demands of the profession.
“As a working student, the journey was never easy,” Balangue said, recalling the difficulty of balancing academic requirements, work responsibilities, and personal struggles. He said the experience taught him resilience, discipline, and faith—values he hopes to carry as he enters the profession.
Balangue also dedicated his achievement to fellow working students, describing the recognition as proof that perseverance can prevail even amid exhaustion, doubt, and limited circumstances.
The recognitions mark another milestone for DOrSU’s Faculty of Criminal Justice Education, affirming its continuing efforts to deliver outcomes-based instruction and produce graduates equipped with competence, integrity, and a strong sense of public service.
For the University, the achievement further reflects its mandate to provide quality higher education responsive to the needs of communities, the region, and the country.
