The Health Services Unit (HSU) is an arm of the office of the Director of Student Services that provices health services to the DOrSU constituents within the framework of a clinic-out-patient setting and referral system-as the need arises. This involves consultation, treatment of health related problems and referrals.

● To promote safety culture in the college and among the clients through active participation in emergency response and disaster prevention.

Present School Identification Card

  • For old client, locate the outpatient record/dental record.
  • For new client, fill up the outpatient/center record.
  • Ask and record the complaint of the clients.
  • Take the vital signs (Blood Pressure, Temperatures, Height and Weight).

If the client needs to be referred to the higher facility

  • If "YES", refer to the school physician/dentist for consultation and perform medical/dental procedures.
  • Give prescribed medicine and correct dosage with proper health teaching.
  • If "NO", give over the counter medicine (necessary) or independent nursing intervention as needed.
  • Refer to specialized medical practitioner or higher facility.

Medical Profiling

  • For old students, fill-up the updated physical examination records.
  • For new students, physical examination record.
  • Take the vital sign (Blood Pressure, Temperatures, Height and Weight).
  • Assessment and interview of the laboratory results with medical certification.
  • Needs follow-up if "YES" to come back for consultation. If "NO", keep the file.

Responding to medical emergency

  • Take client vital signs.
  • Apply first aide.
  • Refer to school physician/give OTC meds or TO weds if necessary).
  • Health Services Unit Personnel fills up the emergency care record form.
  • Health Services Unit Personnel informs client's relatives/parents/instructor.
  • Reassessment of clients.
  • Call EMS/CDRRMO.
  • Discharge the client with complete health teaching and home instructions.
