The Davao Oriental State University formerly known as the Davao Oriental State College of Science and Technology (DOSCST) inaugurated its Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management (IP-TBM) Office through a Marker Unveiling Ceremony on May 18, 2021.

 

Among the guests that were present in the event are SUSTAIN-IPTMB Project Leader and Director of USeP KTTD Engr. Filmann T. Simpao, DOST XI Provincial Director Ms. Sharon Alegado, SUC President III Dr. Roy G. Ponce, and VP for RDE Dr. Wilanfranco Tayone.

 

The ceremony signifies the establishment of an institutionalized IP-TBM office in the College as part of its organizational structure. This office, led by DOrSU/DOSCST-IPTBM Project Staff Mr. Venson B. Sarita, will have a separate identity and will be in charge of Intellectual Property Management which will include copyright, patents, utility models, and trademarks for future research and inventions.

 

DOrSU is considered the top institution in the Davao Region for the most applications in IP models. This accolade is a clear manifestation of the College’s commitment to being a top-notch hub for research and development in the country.
