Cyclist-biologist who travels from Manila by bike visits DOrSU today
Clister Pangantihon, a cyclist, made a visit to Davao Oriental State University today, June 2, 2022. He has been cycling alone from Metro Manila since December 16, 2021, and has visited 75 of the Philippines’ 81 provinces.
Cyclist Clister, popularly known as Cyclister, is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of San Carlos, Cebu City. He worked as a Research Assistant at Ateneo de Manila University before deciding to journey across the Philippines by bicycle.
Cyclister published more than 10 publications in indexed journals, and had several species named after him because of his contributions to science.
“I intend to experience the sites of the country’s provinces and raise environmental awareness among residents.” Cyclister said.
To complete his tour of the country’s provinces, Cyclister planned to visit Batanes, Abra, Apayao, Quirino, Masbate, and Dinagat.
