DOrSU, South Korea’s Gwangju Health University ink academic, research partnership

Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) has forged a five-year partnership with Gwangju Health University (GHU) of South Korea to expand academic exchanges and research collaboration in sports, physical education, nursing, and other health-related fields.
The agreement, signed by DOrSU President Dr. Roy G. Ponce and GHU President Dr. Kyeong-Tae Kim, opens opportunities for both universities to undertake joint research, exchange students and faculty, and share academic resources and scientific findings.
At the forefront of the collaboration is DOrSU’s Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd) program, led by Prof. Dr. Arvin A. Andacao, which will work closely with GHU’s Department of Sports Medicine.
Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), DOrSU and GHU will also pursue joint academic activities, including conferences, seminars, lectures, and other programs that encourage scholarly exchange and cooperation.
The partnership establishes a framework for both universities to develop collaborative initiatives in their respective areas of expertise, particularly in physical education, sports, and health sciences.
The agreement is valid for five years, allowing both institutions to pursue sustained academic and research cooperation.
