DOrSU Professor Andacao takes helm of IOHSK South Asia, Southeast Asia, Oceania region

Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) Professor Dr. Arvin A. Andacao has been appointed President of the International Organization for Health, Sports, and Kinesiology (IOHSK) for South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Oceania (SSO), placing a DOrSU academic at the helm of the organization’s 33-country regional network.
His appointment took effect on September 14, 2026. As president, Dr. Andacao will lead the organization’s efforts to strengthen academic and professional engagement among educators, researchers, practitioners, and students in health, sports, physical education, and kinesiology.
His appointment places DOrSU within a wider network of institutions and professionals across South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Oceania, opening avenues for research collaboration, academic exchange, faculty development, and student participation in international activities.
The regional role supports the University’s continuing globalization and internationalization efforts as it works toward its vision of becoming a regenerative futures university in the Asia-Pacific. It also provides another platform for DOrSU faculty and students to engage with international academic and professional communities.
Dr. Andacao previously served as Vice President of the IOHSK SSO region and has been involved in the organization’s conferences, research activities, academic programs, and leadership initiatives. He was inducted as an IOHSK Fellow earlier this year.
