A premier Center for Gender and Development in the Asia Pacific that emulates inclusion through gender-responsive policies, programs and services leading towards gender equality and women’s empowerment.

MISSION

The Center for Gender and Development is committed to uphold gender equality and women’s empowerment in all spheres of public and private life by implementing various gender mainstreaming strategies that cuts across instruction, research, and community extension.

The CGAD shall aim for:

B. Gender equity and equality among the DORSU constituents;

C. Sustainable GAD responsive partnership and cooperation among stakeholders; and

GAD Services

Gender Analysis. One of the services of the GAD Center is the issuance and provision of GAD Analysis Score to its clients. Gender Analysis is a systematic process of examining policies, programs, and projects to determine their impact on gender equality. It involves identifying gender-specific issues, biases, and inequalities of the proposed program or project. The goal is to ensure that all individuals, regardless of their gender, have equal opportunities and benefits of the proposed program or project.

Information Service. This involve the provision of accurate, timely, and relevant information to individuals or organizations about gender and development and other GAD-related concerns. Information services often involve dissemination of information through production and distribution of Information and Education Campaign (IEC) materials.

Expert Service. This involves the provision of specialized knowledge, skills, or advice by a qualified individual or organization in GAD. GAD experts in DOrSU can be consulted on a wide range of topics on GAD.

Technical Service. This involves the provision of assistance or support related to GAD. Technical services often involve training and seminars on GAD such as but not limited to the following: Gender Sensitivity Trainings (GSTs), GAD Planning and Budgeting, Gender-Related Laws, Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines (HGDG), among others.

Consultancy Service. This involves the provision of professional advice or guidance on a specific project or issue on GAD.

Research Service. GAD Center personnel may provide research services to students and faculty on their research projects and/or theses related to GAD.
