DOrSU strengthens digital security through CyberSafe Workplace seminar
As digital technologies become increasingly integral to institutional operations, Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) conducted the CyberSafe Workplace: Strengthening Cybercrime Awareness and Digital Responsibility Among Employees seminar on September 14 at the FACET Annex Building, DOrSU Main Campus.
Organized through the Human Resource Development Services (HRDS) Office, the activity equipped faculty members, administrative personnel, and newly hired employees with practical knowledge on identifying, preventing, and responding to digital security threats.
PCPT Mark Anthony G Bantigue, Team Leader of the Davao Oriental Provincial Cyber Response Team, served as the resource speaker. He discussed common forms of cybercrime, phishing, social engineering attacks, workplace cybersecurity best practices, safeguarding organizational data, incident response, and individual digital responsibility.
Faculty and staff from across the University participated in the seminar. Also in attendance were Dr. Roy M. Padilla, Vice President for Finance and Administration, and Mr. Diego P. Tan, Chief Administrative Officer for Administration – OIC, who joined the activity in support of the University’s efforts to strengthen cybersecurity awareness among employees.
The seminar was conducted in collaboration with the Davao Oriental Provincial Cyber Response Team, Regional Anti-Cybercrime Group 11, and the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group.
The activity formed part of DOrSU’s observance of the 126th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary, which carries the theme “Puso, Dangal, at Galing Para sa Bayan.”
Through the CyberSafe Workplace seminar, DOrSU continues to promote digital responsibility and strengthen a safer digital environment for its academic community.
