DOrSU Meets Boarding House Owners in Dahican to Strengthen Student Support
Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) met with boarding house owners from Dahican on August 13 at the University Boardroom to discuss ways to strengthen support for students and promote a safe and supportive living environment outside the campus.
Representing DOrSU in the meeting were Dr. Evangeline Rivera, Director for Student Affairs and Services, and Jay Cergas, Head of the Office of Student Affairs. They engaged with boarding house owners in discussions on how they can work together to safeguard the welfare and well-being of students residing in their boarding houses.
The meeting focused on the important role of boarding house owners in supporting students’ safety, discipline, and overall well-being while they are living away from their families. Discussions also emphasized the importance of maintaining open communication and coordination between boarding house owners and the University, particularly in addressing concerns involving students.
The gathering also explored ways for boarding house owners to further strengthen their role as partners of the University. Through closer collaboration, DOrSU aims to establish a more responsive support system that promotes a conducive, safe, and responsible living environment for students.
The engagement reflects DOrSU’s continuing commitment to student welfare and its recognition of the importance of working with community stakeholders to ensure that students are supported not only within the University but also in the communities where they live.
