DOrSU Maintains ISO QMS Compliance, Records No Major Non-Conformities in 2026 Surveillance Audit
Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) successfully maintained the effectiveness of its Quality Management System (QMS) after recording no major non-conformities during the ISO 9001:2015 Surveillance Audit conducted by SOCOTEC Certification Philippines Inc. from July 21 to 23, 2026.
The three-day audit covered the University’s Main Campus and Extension Campuses in Banaybanay, Cateel, and San Isidro. The audit evaluated DOrSU’s compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards and its adherence to internationally recognized quality management practices.
The audit recognized the University’s established management systems across academic, research, extension, administrative, and support services. These included preventive maintenance programs, documented extension and impact assessment processes, faculty development initiatives, customer feedback mechanisms, health promotion activities, and internal quality assurance procedures. These systems demonstrate DOrSU’s consistent implementation of processes that support efficient operations and responsive public service.
The surveillance audit also generated recommendations that will help the University further refine its operations. DOrSU will integrate these recommendations into institutional initiatives aimed at enhancing service delivery, optimizing processes, and sustaining operational excellence across all campuses.
DOrSU President Dr. Roy G. Ponce emphasized that the audit reflects the University’s resolve to uphold high standards in governance, academic excellence, and public service. He noted that every external audit serves as an opportunity to assess institutional practices, build on existing strengths, and pursue even higher levels of organizational performance.
The successful surveillance audit reflects DOrSU’s continued pursuit of excellence through its regenerative futures vision, which advances resilient institutions, responsible governance, innovation, and sustainable development. The University’s sustained compliance with ISO 9001:2015 also supports several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) by enhancing educational standards, SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) through institutional innovation and process enhancement, SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) by promoting effective, accountable, and transparent governance, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by reinforcing stakeholder confidence through internationally recognized quality standards.
