DOrSU delegates win in DAVSURANON Sports Fest 2026 pickleball events

Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) secured podium finishes in pickleball during the 1st DAVSURANON Sports Fest 2026 held on May 16 in Digos City.
Lovely Magdipig and Aima Lyn Pagayawan led DOrSU’s campaign after clinching the championship title in the Novice Doubles Women Open Category.
DOrSU also earned two podium finishes in the Novice Doubles PASUC XI Category, with Atty. John Rey Codilla and Bin Maybano finishing as first runners-up, while Jhon Inoco and Engr. Jaypee Cantones placed second runners-up.
The DAVSURANON Sports Fest 2026, initiated by Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) and supported by the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) Region XI, gathered SUCs in the region for sports competitions aimed at promoting physical fitness, unity, discipline, and holistic well-being among students, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders.
The first DAVSURANON Sports Fest opened on May 14 at the DSSC Gymnasium and ran until May 16, carrying the theme “Paghiusa pinaagi sa Dula, Kultura, ug Kadasig.” Activities included the Dance Festival, Laro ng Lahi, badminton games, and pickleball tournament.
DSSC President Dr. Augie E. Fuentes also graced the event, demonstrating her full support for the initiative.
DOrSU’s participation builds on the University’s growing engagement in sports and wellness activities, following its recent Labor Day pickleball tournament for employees, stakeholders, and local enthusiasts, which formed part of broader efforts to promote health, recreation, and community engagement beyond the workplace.
