Three DOrSU Researchers Accepted as NRCP Members

Three researchers from Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) have been approved as Associate Members of the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP), strengthening the University’s representation in the country’s premier community of scholars, scientists, and experts.
Dr. Mary Fil M. Bauyot and Ms. Hanelen T. Pislan were admitted under Division VIII – Social Sciences, while Dr. Lanie B. Laureano qualified under Division VII – Engineering and Industrial Research. Their membership, confirmed through notices issued by the NRCP Governing Board, grants them access to NRCP’s nationwide research network, funding support, and capacity-building programs geared toward advancing fundamental and policy-oriented research.
As new Associate Members, the three DOrSU researchers will be included in the NRCP’s membership database and will participate in division meetings, research activities, and national scientific assemblies. Their membership further reflects the University’s growing engagement in research across diverse disciplines.
This development follows the recent visit of the Department of Science and Technology–National Research Council of the Philippines (DOST–NRCP) to DOrSU for a one-day R&D Forum and Membership Orientation. During the event, DOST–NRCP highlighted national priority research areas, funding mechanisms, and the vital role of researchers in shaping evidence-based policies and innovations. The visit reaffirmed the University’s commitment to enhancing its research culture and actively participating in national research initiatives.
The entire DOrSU community congratulates Dr. Bauyot, Ms. Pislan, and Dr. Laureano and looks forward to their continued contributions in advancing research, innovation, and knowledge creation.
