Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU), represented by Director for Extension Dr. Maryfil M. Bauyot, signed a new agreement today, April 8, with the Department of Science and Technology XI (DOST XI) to assist micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), peopleโs organizations (POs), and non-government organizations (NGOs) in the province.
The partnership aims to strengthen these groups and enhance their ability to effectively manage their organizations and businesses. DOST XI will provide support through programs such as SETUP, CEST, SSCC, and other local initiatives.
Under the agreement, DOrSU will collaborate closely with DOST XI through its Provincial Science and Technology Office (PSTO) in Davao Oriental. DOrSU will assist in planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the programs. Additionally, the university will offer technical advice and business support.
DOrSU experts will provide consultancy services in areas such as marketing, operations, finance, human resources, and risk management. The university will also assist in preparing reports and sharing resources, including training venues and equipment.
In turn, DOST XI will help assess the needs of the MSMEs and keep them informed about upcoming activities.
The project is part of the SPARK initiative led by DOrSU to support community development through science and technology. (DOrSU PIO)
