DOrSU mounts Open Government exhibit for public access to university services
Davao Oriental State University brought its frontline and administrative services, along with its milestones and institutional accomplishments, closer to stakeholders through an Open Government Exhibit held Thursday, May 21, at the Pocket Park, DOrSU Main Campus, City of Mati.
The day-long activity, conducted in line with the nationwide observance of Open Government Week 2026, gathered key university offices in a public exhibit designed to provide information on institutional services, governance processes, and citizen engagement mechanisms.
Among the participating offices and units were the University Registrar’s Office; Office of Student Promotion, Admission, and Testing (OSPAT); Office of Student Counseling and Development (OSCD); Office of Human Resource Development Services (HRDS); Global Affairs and International Relations Office (GAIRO); Accounting, Budget, and Cashier’s Offices; Procurement Management Office; Property and Supply Management Unit; General Services Unit; and the Research, Innovation, and Extension (RIE) Division.
Each office set up informational booths presenting their respective mandates, available services, and operational processes, allowing students, employees, and visitors to directly engage with university personnel.
The exhibit also featured the public display of the University’s Citizens’ Charter and Statement of Allotments, Obligations and Balances (SAOB), underscoring DOrSU’s commitment to transparency and accountability in public service.
The activity reflects DOrSU’s continuing effort to strengthen institutional governance and public accountability, consistent with its G.R.O.W.T.H. 2029 framework, which identifies effective public service, strong governance systems, and digital transformation among its strategic priorities.
Open Government Week is a global initiative that promotes transparency, accountability, citizen participation, and innovation in governance across public institutions. At DOrSU, the exhibit served as a venue to demonstrate how these principles are translated into university operations and service delivery.
