Several employees from Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) participated in the Mass Blood Donation (MBD) activity held on July 16, 2025, at the Audio-Visual Room of the Davao Oriental Provincial Medical Center (DOPMC). The initiative, organized as part of the DOPMC’s 54th Founding Anniversary celebration, aimed to strengthen the province’s blood supply and promote voluntary, non-remunerated blood donation as a life-saving act of community service.
The bloodletting drive gathered support from various government and non-government organizations, along with members of the community who came forward as voluntary blood donors.
DOrSU employees, along with other participants, expressed their solidarity with the medical centerโs mission to ensure sufficient and safe blood for patients in need. For some, the activity was not just a gesture of goodwill, but a personal commitment to saving lives.
“I have been taking part in bloodletting events to help save lives. It is also beneficial for my health, and I know that in turn, I may be able to access blood when I or my family need it,โ shared Beverly W. Sordilla, a staff member of DOrSU who also participated in the MBD activity.
DOPMC and its partner agencies thanked all participating individuals and institutions for contributing to the cause, emphasizing that each donation makes a critical difference in the lives of patients.
