SUC Presidents, CHED RO Convene at DOrSU for DBM XI-led Performance Review
The Department of Budget and Management Region XI (DBM XI) held the Agency Performance Review Conference today, March 26, at Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) Boardroom. The event brought together presidents and budget officers from State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in Region XI, along with representatives from the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office XI (CHED RO XI), led by Regional Director Dr. Maricar R. Casquejo, to assess financial and academic performance.
DBM XI Director Gary R. Martel opened the conference by emphasizing the need for responsible budget use in higher education. He highlighted how effective financial management supports quality education and institutional growth.
Ms. Pia Angela M. Enriquez, Senior Budget and Management Specialist, presented the FY 2024 Agency Performance Review (APR) Scorecards for SUCs and CHED XI. Following the presentation, DBM XI officials held individual consultations with SUC representatives to address budget concerns and explore potential improvements.
Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) was recognized for its strong financial management and academic achievements. Ms. Enriquez commended the university’s efficient budget utilization and resource allocation, which contributed to its institutional growth.
Beyond financial performance, DOrSU also excelled in licensure exams and graduate employment. The university surpassed its targets in professional board exams and job placement rates, reflecting its commitment to academic excellence and workforce readiness.
The conference reinforced collaboration between DBM XI, CHED RO XI, and SUCs in the region. DOrSU officials viewed the recognition as proof of the university’s dedication to quality education and sound financial management.
