FTEd Hosts EdExpo 2024 to Enhance Future Educators’ Skills
The Faculty of Teacher Education successfully hosted EdExpo 2024 on May 16-17 at the university gymnasium. This two-day event, led by Carlos Jae D. Soliven, Christian D. Taghoy, and Estela Marie Librea, brought together 350 Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd) students, 13 BEEd faculty members, and 5 Elementary Education (EEd) instructors for a comprehensive showcase of teaching skills and methodologies.
EdExpo 2024 aimed to bridge theoretical knowledge and practical application in education. It provided students with the opportunity to engage in activities such as lesson planning, instructional materials creation, and demonstration teaching, enabling them to apply their academic learning in real-world scenarios. The event also included workshops on various teaching strategies, equipping students with innovative approaches for effective classroom management and student engagement.
In addition to hands-on activities, EdExpo featured a quiz bowl to assess participants’ grasp of general and professional education concepts, promoting active engagement and healthy competition. This component aimed to reinforce the student’s knowledge and application of educational theories.
Through EdExpo 2024, DOrSU’s Faculty of Teacher Education, led by its Dean Dr. Helina Jean P. Dupa, showcased its students’ skills and achievements and emphasized the importance of continuous professional development and lifelong learning. The event served as a dynamic platform for students to hone their teaching skills, gain confidence, and prepare for successful careers in elementary education. (DOrSU PIO)
