DOrSU ROTC Units Join 1st 11RCDG Fancy Drill Competition

The Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) Units of Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) Main Campus and San Isidro Campus took part in the 1st 11th Regional Community Defense Group (11RCDG) ROTC Fancy Drill Competition held at the DOrSU Oval on March 29, 2026.
The competition, organized as part of the Philippine Army’s ROTC Month celebration, showcased cadets’ discipline, precision, and creativity through synchronized drill routines. It also served as a platform to promote nationalism, leadership, and unity among the youth.
The DOrSU San Isidro Campus ROTC Unit recorded a score of 97.20 percent, while the DOrSU Main Campus ROTC Unit posted 94.90 percent. Both units demonstrated coordinated performances before evaluators and spectators during the event.
The San Isidro Campus cadets earned perfect marks in appearance, wow-factor, and audience impact, along with near-perfect scores in precision and execution. Meanwhile, the DOrSU Main Campus ROTC Unit also registered a strong performance in the competition.
The judging panel was composed of senior Philippine Army officers, including LTC Jerry S Lamosao (INF) PA as Head Evaluator, COL Romeo S Saluta III GSC (INF) PA as Chairperson, and COL Calixto C Cadano Jr. AFP (GSC) PA as Group Commander and Vice-Chairperson. In their remarks, the evaluators emphasized that the competition was not only a test of drill proficiency but also a celebration of discipline, unity, and leadership potential among cadets.
The 1st 11RCDG ROTC Fancy Drill Competition marked a step in strengthening the ROTC program in the Davao Region and highlighted its role in helping develop future leaders.
