Oath-taking held for newly hired, promoted DOrSU personnel

Newly hired and promoted faculty and staff of Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) formally took their oath of office on March 16, 2026, following the university’s Flag-Raising Ceremony and Convocation.
The oath-taking was administered by DOrSU President Dr. Roy G. Ponce, who led the employees in their formal assumption of duty as members of the university workforce.
The ceremony formed part of the formal induction of 46 newly hired and promoted personnel, composed of both teaching and non-teaching employees. Of the total, 12 were administrative personnel assigned to key support offices, while 34 were faculty members deployed to different faculties and extension campuses of the university.
As part of their integration into the university, the newly hired personnel are set to participate in DOrSU’s onboarding program, led by the Office of Human Resource Development Services, to orient them on the university’s policies, systems, workplace processes, and institutional values as they begin their service.
The ceremony also highlighted the promotion of faculty and staff members who have advanced in rank, marking another milestone in their professional journey in the institution. For the promoted personnel, the oath-taking signified not only their formal assumption of higher responsibilities but also the university’s recognition of their commitment, competence, and continued contribution to its mandate.
In his message, Dr. Ponce encouraged the newly hired and promoted personnel to serve with dedication and a genuine sense of purpose. “Love your job,” he said, as he reminded them to carry out their responsibilities with commitment and passion. He added that work becomes more meaningful when done with sincerity and pride in public service.
The oath-taking reflected DOrSU’s continuing efforts to strengthen its academic and administrative workforce and to cultivate a community of educators and personnel committed to quality service, professionalism, and institutional growth.
