Ms. Diana Vem P. Lazaro, Program Head of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BS Nursing) at Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU), recently participated in a four-day benchmarking activity in Singapore from February 13-16, 2025. The activity was part of the International Nursing for Transcultural Exposure and Research through Off-Campus Learning (INTEROL) Program, organized by the Carl Balita Review Center (CBRC).
The visit aimed to establish partnerships with nursing institutions and hospitals in Singapore to enhance academic collaborations, clinical exposure, and research opportunities for students and faculty. It also supports DOrSU’s efforts to align its nursing curriculum and Related Learning Experiences (RLE) with international healthcare standards.
Ms. Lazaro gained valuable insights into advanced nursing education models, innovative teaching strategies, and state-of-the-art clinical training facilities, all of which will be leveraged to enhance student learning, faculty development, and institutional practices at DOrSU.
This initiative aligns with DOrSU’s broader goal of expanding international collaborations through student internships, faculty exchanges, and research partnerships. By benchmarking with other institutions, the university aims to elevate academic standards and ultimately contribute to better healthcare services in the community.
Through the Global Affairs and International Relations Office, led by Dr. Lilibeth S. Galvez, DOrSU continues to pursue strategic international collaborations. These efforts aim to strengthen academic programs, foster global engagement, and provide students and faculty with opportunities for professional growth and cross-cultural learning.
