Farmers from Davao Oriental recently participated in hands-on training at Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) to improve their coffee production skills and enhance the market potential of their produce. Held on November 18β19, 2024, at the universityβs Coffee Cupping Laboratory, the training aimed to equip farmers with advanced production techniques, quality grading skills, and food innovation insights.
Co-organized by the Department of Agriculture XI and the Provincial Agriculture Office (Davao Oriental), the activity combined both theoretical lectures and practical, hands-on sessions. Farmers learned how to improve the quality of their coffee through techniques like post-harvest processing and proper grading to meet industry standards. Clinicing activities provided participants with the opportunity to refine their skills and adapt to evolving market demands.
The training was part of DOrSUβs commitment to supporting local farmers, helping them produce high-quality coffee and create better market opportunities.
