DOST XI turns over ₱1.8M check to DOrSU for SMART CEST Program

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region XI, as part of the Smart and Sustainable Communities through Science and Technology (SMART CEST) program, handed over a check of ₱1,844,400 to Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) today, July 9, 2024, at the University Boardroom.

The check was presented by Provincial Director Mirasol G. Domingo to Dr. Misael B. Clapano, Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension (RIE), along with the Vice President for Administration and Finance, Dr. Roy M. Padilla, and Director for Extension, Dr. Maryfil M. Bauyot.

The SMART CEST program is one of DOST XI’s main projects, aimed at empowering local communities through science and technology solutions. Working through the Provincial Science and Technology Office (PSTO), DOST XI collaborates with educational institutions like DOrSU to promote sustainable development in the region.

DOrSU, led by President Dr. Roy G. Ponce, is thankful for DOST’s continued support and expressed interest in further collaborations.
