DOrSU ranks 3rd in Region XI for Scopus-indexed research output in 2025

Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) has secured third place among universities and colleges in Region XI in terms of Scopus-indexed research production for 2025, reaffirming its growing stature as a research-oriented state university in Mindanao.
Based on data compiled by Global Health Focus (GHF) University Excellence as of 24 January 2026, DOrSU recorded 48 Scopus-indexed publications in 2025, ranking third in Region XI, following the University of Southeastern Philippines (77 publications) and Mapúa Malayan Colleges Mindanao (58 publications).
Beyond its 2025 performance, DOrSU has produced a cumulative total of 198 Scopus-indexed publications since its first indexed output, meeting the minimum Scopus document threshold for eligibility in the QS World University Rankings and positioning the university for enhanced international visibility.
University President Dr. Roy G. Ponce credited the achievement to the collective efforts of DOrSU’s faculty-researchers, research centers, and administrative units that have consistently advanced a culture of inquiry and publication. The performance reflects strategic investments in research capability-building, incentives for publication, and partnerships that align local development priorities with globally relevant scholarship. With DOrSU’s deliberate strengthening of its research ecosystem under the GROWTH framework, particularly its pillar on Research Excellence, the university is poised to further increase its research output and impact in the coming years.
With research productivity continuing its upward trajectory, DOrSU is well-positioned to further strengthen its standing in both regional and global academic landscapes, reinforcing its vision of being recognized as the leading regenerative futures university in the Asia-Pacific by 2035.
