DOrSU, Davao Research Journal Earn National Recognition as Top SERP-P Contributors

Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) has gained national recognition after being named one of the Top Contributors to the Socioeconomic Research Portal for the Philippines (SERP-P) for 2025, affirming the university’s growing presence in the country’s research landscape.
A major highlight of this feat is the performance of the Davao Research Journal (DRJ), which was cited as one of the Top 10 Most Active Journals among 73 member-institutions of the SERP-P network. The citation reflects DRJ’s increasing visibility and its role in making DOrSU’s research output accessible to scholars, policymakers, and the wider public.
The awards were presented during the 25th SERP-P Anniversary and Annual Network Meeting held on December 2–3 at Sequoia Hotel Manila Bay in Parañaque City. The recognition was conferred by Dr. Philip Arnold P. Tuaño of the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS), which recently placed 37th worldwide in social policy research rankings.
Behind the strong showing of the Davao Research Journal is the work of its editorial team led by Editor-in-Chief Dr. Edison D. Macusi and managing editors Ms. Ivy M. Nallos and Ms. Hanelen T. Pislan. Through careful editorial review, consistent publication standards, and active engagement with authors, they have helped increase the journal’s citations, downloads, and overall presence within the SERP-P platform.
The recognition of DOrSU and DRJ as top contributors to SERP-P signals the university’s strengthening culture of research and publication. By ensuring that locally generated studies are uploaded, curated, and widely shared through a national database, the university contributes not only to academic discourse but also to evidence-based policymaking and regional development.
With this latest milestone, DOrSU and the Davao Research Journal are expected to further intensify efforts to support faculty and researchers in producing quality work that addresses pressing issues in Mindanao and the rest of the country.
