Cheers, smiles, and a few happy tears filled Honeys Hotel on June 17, 2025, as Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) held its 12th Clinical Graduation Ceremony, honoring 99 student-nurses from the Faculty of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences, Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.
With the theme “With Compassionate Hands and Courageous Hearts: Embracing the Call to Care,” the event celebrated the students’ journey, marked by perseverance and a steadfast commitment to healthcare.
These future nurses walked with pride, having completed one of the most demanding phases of their academic training. Their hearts were full, and their minds focused on a single calling: to serve with empathy and skill.
Speaking on behalf of DOrSU President Dr. Roy G. Ponce, Director Dr. Evangeline R. Rivera offered a message of purpose and inspiration:
“This ceremony affirms more than just your academic milestones—it honors your courage to respond to the needs of others, even in times of uncertainty. You are now stewards of care, and the world needs you.”
The program featured the traditional donning of nursing pins and the awarding of certificates to outstanding student-nurses. Proud families, faculty, and friends watched as each name was called—each step across the stage a symbol of growth, resilience, and readiness.
This milestone is not only personal for the graduates but also institutional, reflecting DOrSU’s deepening commitment to producing health professionals who are technically competent, ethically grounded, and community-centered.
As the ceremony came to a close, the message was clear: this is just the beginning. For these 99 trailblazers, the real service begins now, and they are more than ready to answer the call.
