DOrSU Pushes Holistic Well-Being Agenda at EAWOP 2025

Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) recently participated in the 22nd European Congress of Work and Organizational Psychology (EAWOP 2025) as part of its continuing initiatives to promote holistic well-being anchored on its regenerative futures vision.
Representing both the university and the Province of Davao Oriental, Dr. Rose Anelyn V. Ceniza—faculty member of DOrSU’s Psychology program and resident psychologist at Selah: Davao Oriental Mental Wellness Hub—attended the international congress held from May 21 to 24 at the O2 Universum in Prague, Czech Republic.
Her participation, made possible through DOrSU’s Faculty Mobility Program, highlights the university’s commitment to academic advancement and international collaboration. Dr. Ceniza was part of a provincial delegation that also included Dr. Reden V. Bersaldo, Provincial Health Officer II and Concurrent Chief of the Davao Oriental Provincial Medical Center (DOPMC), and Mr. Rezmarquel Pann, Provincial Mental Health Program Manager—further strengthening the strong partnership between the university and the Provincial Government of Davao Oriental in advancing mental health initiatives.
The team presented their collaborative research titled “Mental Health Status of Filipino Healthcare Workers: Challenges and Interventions,” which spotlighted the mental health realities faced by healthcare workers in the province. Drawing from on-the-ground experiences, the study highlighted effective, evidence-based strategies implemented in Davao Oriental to support frontline professionals through periods of intense pressure and uncertainty.
Beyond their presentation, Dr. Ceniza and her colleagues actively engaged in diverse sessions focused on organizational psychology, workplace wellness, and mental health systems. These discussions offered global perspectives and best practices that the team aims to integrate into local programs, further strengthening Davao Oriental’s mental health initiatives.
In a social media post, Dr. Ceniza shared that attending EAWOP 2025 was “such a valuable experience where I gained so much knowledge,” underscoring the impact of international academic exchange on personal growth and professional insight.
This milestone not only reinforces DOrSU’s dedication to research excellence and faculty empowerment but also reflects a progressive vision for advancing mental health care in the province, rooted in collaboration, innovation, and global standards.
The participation of Dr. Ceniza and the provincial team at EAWOP 2025 serves as a beacon of how local expertise and international dialogue can converge to create meaningful, sustainable change in community wellness.
