𝗗𝗔-𝗕𝗦𝗪𝗠 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗗𝗢𝗿𝗦𝗨’𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗟𝗮𝗯 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗦𝗼𝗶𝗹, 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗘𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁
The Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Soils and Water Management (DA–BSWM) has delivered vital laboratory equipment to Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU), a member of the Philippine National Soil Laboratory Network (PhilNASOLAN).
The equipment, received on March 26, 2025, at the University Research Complex (UResCom), includes an incubator, oven, nitrogen distiller, and hot plate. These additions are expected to significantly enhance the accuracy, efficiency, and reliability of soil and water testing in DOrSU’s laboratory. This initiative is part of BSWM’s broader effort to upgrade laboratory facilities across the country, ensuring consistency and high-quality data nationwide.
The upgrade supports the implementation of Presidential Decree No. 1435, which mandates the standardization of soil and water testing methodologies in the Philippines. By harmonizing testing procedures, the initiative aims to provide accurate and comparable results that promote sustainable agricultural practices and informed land use planning.
University President Dr. Roy G. Ponce expressed gratitude for the support, noting that the upgraded lab plays a key role in the DOrSU’s vision of becoming a regenerative futures university in the Asia-Pacific. He further reaffirmed the university’s commitment to advancing cutting-edge research in environmental sustainability and agriculture. With the new equipment, DOrSU is well-positioned to drive innovation and contribute to regenerative solutions for both local and global communities.
