DOrSU Instructor Wins 2024 Young Farmers Challenge

Elmer James E. Catubig, a faculty member of Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) and Head of the Product Ideation and Development Unit, won in the 2024 Young Farmers Challenge Provincial Level Start-Up Competition, held on February 11, 2025, at the AMAD Conference Room, DA Regional Field Office XI, Brgy. Oshiro, Tugbok District, Davao City. He received an ₱80,000 grant from the Department of Agriculture to support his agribusiness venture.

The Young Farmers Challenge, led by the DA’s Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Service (AMAS), provides financial grants to young Filipinos (18–30 years old) for innovative, market-driven, and sustainable agribusiness projects.

Catubig’s achievement contributes to agricultural innovation and aligns with the university’s goal of developing young agri-entrepreneurs for food security and sustainability. (DOrSU PIO)
