Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) recently took part as a key resource in the Capability Building for the Implementation of Extension Programs at Caraga State University (CSU) in Butuan City, held on October 10-11, 2024. Dr. Janesa Pilar, one of DOrSU’s impact assessment experts, served as the resource speaker, offering insights on assessing and evaluating the impact of extension programs
Dr. Pilarโs presentation focused on practical tools for measuring program success, introducing various assessment methods and demonstrating how to use key metrics to track long-term benefits.
The event aimed to equip CSU faculty with the necessary skills for effective program implementation, particularly in impact evaluation. Participants gained a better understanding of assessment frameworks and the use of metrics for evaluating outcomes.
In addition to knowledge sharing, the event also opened opportunities for DOrSU to connect with other institutions and stakeholders for potential future collaboration on extension projects.
In September, DOrSU’s pool of impact assessment experts, working alongside their counterparts from Central Mindanao University (CMU), developed protocols for third-party impact assessments and established guidelines for validating completed studies. This effort is part of the ongoing partnership between DOrSU and CMU, aimed at enhancing the effectiveness and reliability of impact evaluation practices. (DOrSU PIO)
