The Department of the Interior and Local Government Regional Office XI (DILG RO XI) and Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) have formalized their collaboration for the implementation of the Citizen Satisfaction Index System (CSIS) 2024. The partnership aims to streamline data collection, analysis, and reporting processes to better serve the communities within the region.
Under the agreement, DOrSU, designated as the Local Resource Institute, will leverage its expertise in various facets of the CSIS project. Led by Dr. Lanie B. Laureano, Director for Research, the DOrSU team comprises Mr. Jerd M. Dela Gente, Mr. Algasher Ato, and Ms. Cindy Lasco.
The responsibilities entrusted to DOrSU encompass a spectrum of tasks crucial for the effective implementation of CSIS 2024. These include mobilizing qualified personnel, collecting data, translating questionnaires, and adhering to data management protocols prescribed by the CSIS National Team from the Bureau of Local Government Supervision (BLGS).
Moreover, DOrSU will undertake data-gathering activities in the target Local Government Units (LGUs), ensuring comprehensive coverage and adherence to established standards. The university will process and analyze the collected data meticulously, guided by protocols outlined in the CSIS toolkit.
In line with data security and confidentiality measures, DOrSU commits to maintaining custody of completed questionnaires and electronic data for four years post-implementation while ensuring the secure destruction of physical copies containing respondents’ personal information.
The university further pledges to provide timely reports to DILG RO XI, including interim updates and the final Citizen Satisfaction Report. Additionally, DOrSU will facilitate focus group discussions with Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and provide technical assistance for CSIS Utilization Conferences organized by DILG.
As part of their commitment to transparency and accountability, DOrSU will submit proposals for DILG Technical Assistance Projects based on CSIS results and ensure the proper utilization of funds per regulatory requirements.
Assistant Regional Director Abdullah V. Matalam and Provincial Director Orle Cabaobao expressed gratitude to DOrSU for the longstanding partnership and invaluable contributions to community development.
This collaborative effort underscores the synergy between academic institutions and government agencies in driving initiatives to foster community welfare and satisfaction. With DOrSU’s steadfast support, CSIS 2024 endeavors to yield actionable insights for informed decision-making and policy formulation, ultimately advancing public service in the region.
