𝗟𝗚𝗨-𝗖𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗜, 𝗗𝗢𝗿𝗦𝗨 𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗚𝗘 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗡𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗣 𝗧𝗢 𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗦𝗧 𝗗𝗔𝗬𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗧𝗘𝗔𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗦, 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗞𝗘𝗥𝗦

The Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) and the Local Government Unit – City of Mati have formally entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). The MOA, signed by DOrSU President Dr. Roy G. Ponce representing DOrSU, and City Mayor Michelle Marie Denise N. Rabat on behalf of the Local Government Unit, was officially established to promote mutual cooperation and support for daycare teachers and workers from the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) – City of Mati today, January 15, at the University Boardroom.

The primary focus of this partnership is to upgrade manpower resources and improve the performance of constituents in various fields such as Early Childhood Education, Special Needs Education, Elementary Education, Mathematics, Science, Filipino, English, Technology and Livelihood Education, and Physical Education Programs. Both parties recognize the importance of staying abreast of the latest trends and issues in education, policy, and implementation, as well as Gender and Development (GAD) concerns.

Under the terms of the MOA, DOrSU pledges to provide technical assistance through capability building for daycare teachers and workers, along with organizing seminars, training, and research activities. The university will also closely coordinate with the City of Mati in designing, conducting, and evaluating various projects and activities.

“This is our humble contribution to the city for all the support it gives us,” DOrSU President Dr. Roy G. Ponce said. President Ponce also emphasized the role of DOrSU as a partner in the holistic development of the city.

On the other hand, the City of Mati commits to ensuring the attendance and participation of its target constituents, acknowledging and recognizing DOrSU’s contributions, and actively supporting and integrating educational activities within the community.

“The City of Mati is invested in education,” Mayor Michelle N. Rabat said in her message. She further stated that kids should be well-trained in their early education and must be enabled “to fish” rather than “given fish.”
