1HEALTH, which stands for One Human Environmental Animal Linkage for Total Health, is a nationwide research initiative to support the Philippine national surveillance and control programs for African Swine Fever, Avian Influenza, and Antimicrobial Resistance through a One Health Systems Approach. This project is funded by the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) and the International Development Research Centre (IDRC).
Present during the meeting were Davao Oriental Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Eric R. Dagmang, DOrSU Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension, Dr. Misael B. Clapano, DOrSU Research Director Dr. Lanie B. Lareano, and faculty-researcher Dr. Phoebe Nemenzo.
The partnership is expected to strengthen research capabilities, promote knowledge exchange, and contribute to the overall well-being of communities in Davao Oriental. By bringing together key players from academia, local communities, and government, this collaboration aspires to create a lasting impact on public health across the country. (DOrSU PIO)
