Two of DOrSU’s faculty members – Dr. Misael B. Clapano (Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences) and Mr. Richard C. Maravillas (Cateel Extension Campus) co-authored the paper titled “Phenotypic Characterization of Mottled Native Chicken in Davao Region, Philippines,” published in the American Journal of Pure and Applied Biosciences.
The study investigated 141 hens and 31 roosters from the Davao Region, describing their phenotypic characteristics in terms of qualitative traits (feather morphology, comb type, skin, and shank color) and quantitative traits (body weight, body length, chest circumference, shank length, height, and wingspan).
