University researchers win big at NRCP Scientific Conference
Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) researchers Mr. Dindo O. Diampo, Ms. Stefenie Katrin V. Siblos, and Mr. Edison Macusi bagged the Best Poster award during the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) Regional Cluster Annual Scientific Conference and 19th Membership Assembly on October 27, 2021 with their poster entitled “Climate Change Impacts, Variabilities and the Resilience of Small-scale Fisheries in Davao Gulf.”
This study focuses on the assessment of climate resilience of selected fishing communities around the Davao Gulf. It also touches on their coping mechanisms, and climate change impacts. Moreover, the study is also one of the undergraduate theses funded under the Fisheries Catch Assessment project of DOST-PCAARRD.

Ms. Jenie Diuyan with her poster entitled: “Characteristics, Threats and Challenges of Shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) Production among Small-holder and Commercial Shrimp Farmers in Davao Region.”
Ms. Nitcel Aymie Albarido with her poster entitled: “Vulnerability Assessment of Whiteleg Shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) culture in Mati City, Davao Oriental, Philippines.”
Ms. Darshel Ester Patarata Estor with her poster entitled “Environmental and Socioeconomic Impacts of Shrimp Farming in the Philippines: A Critical Review.”
