Ms. Clesia Mae L. Laurente from the Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) earned second place in the undergraduate oral research category at the 14th Health Research and Development (R&D) Expo, held on November 12, 2024, in Davao City. The event was organized by the Regional Health Research and Development Consortium of Davao Region (RHRDC XI) and showcased significant health research initiatives.
Ms. Laurente’s research focused on đ¸đ đâđđđđâđđ đđđđ contamination in bivalves from Mati, Davao Oriental, tackling important community health concerns. Under the guidance of Dr. Analou D. Dedal, her study was recognized for its relevance and impact, standing out among entries from 11 universities across the region. Ms. Laurente and Dr. Dedal were awarded medals, a cash prize, and a certificate.
The DOrSU delegation also participated in both oral and poster competitions, coached by Dr. Phoebe Nemenzo-Calica and Mr. Ace Palma-Gil. This achievement underscores DOrSU’s ongoing support for faculty-led research addressing regional health challenges. (DOrSU PIO)
