Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) and six local businesses have officially entered into a trademark license agreement, allowing the latter to utilize the university’s logo on their products and services. Proprietors of Alfagraphics Printshoppe Solution, New Sherryton’s Tailoring Services, Eleven Seventh Wearing Apparel Manufacturing, Techprints Office and School Supplies, KMJ Net Services, and H&EM Garments Services, attended the ceremonial signing held today, February 23, at the DOrSU Learning and Information Resource Center (LIRC) Conference Room.
During the ceremony, Mr. Venson B. Sarita, Director of the Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management (IPTBM) Office, elucidated the stipulations within the Trademark License Agreement, outlining the obligations for both DOrSU and the Licensees.
University President Dr. Roy G. Ponce also seized the opportunity to articulate the university’s positioning as a regenerative futures university and expressed optimism that the new licensees would integrate this branding into their products and services, aligning with the university’s vision. Furthermore, Dr. Ponce underscored the importance of fostering fair trade practices, environmental sustainability, and healthy competition.
The trademark licensing agreement is anchored on the Trademark Registration for the university’s logo granted by the Bureau of Trademarks of the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHIL). The trademark licensing promises enhanced brand visibility and revenue generation for the university. Additionally, it offers advantages to licensing partners, facilitating mutually beneficial collaborations.

Adesna of New Sherryton’s Tailoring Services; Ms. Phoebe G. Aragon of Eleven Seventh Wearing Apparel Manufacturing; Mr. Anthon Arvee G. Montefalcon of Techprints Office and School Supplies; Mr. Marjohn I. Bebeloni of KMJ Net Services; and Ms. Mercy U. Bustante of H&EM Garments Services.
