Prof. Bryan L. Susada of the DOrSU Cateel Extension Campus is the lead author of the paper titled “Independent Semitotal Domination in the Join of Graphs,” which was recently published in the Asian Research Journal of Mathematics.
The paper introduces the concept of independent semitotal domination in graphs and investigates the conditions for graphs on which the independent semitotal dominating sets exist. The study may apply to the strategic placement of police/military checkpoints in road networks and other instances by graphically locating the point where limited resources are of maximum use while maintaining a sound support system.
