DOrSU accepts gadget donations from Acer amid online learning
The Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) received five tablets from Acer Philippines through its Acer Academy today, October 27, 2021.
Present to receive the donation are SUC President III Dr. Roy G. Ponce, Institute of Computing and Engineering (ICE) Dean Engr. Jean C. Eballe, BSIT Program Head Ms. Lanie B. Laureano, together with ICE faculty members Mr. Wilkin F. Simo, Mr. Jhon O. Inoco, and Ms. Cindy A. Lasco
This donation is part of the existing partnership between DOrSU and Acer through a Memorandum of Agreement signed last August 2020.
Through this partnership, the University can enjoy the benefits provided to Platinum members from Acer which includes curricular events sponsorship, career development programs, and IT-enablement seminars.
Earlier this year, DOrSU also received an Information Kiosk which will be utilized as a platform that can display school-related information.
The tablet donations will be used by the University, specifically by the Institute of Computing and Engineering (ICE), to aid faculty members with online teaching, as well as research, extension, and other institutional programs needing additional ICT infrastructure.
