Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) elevated faculty expertise with a Syllabi, T.O.S. (Table of Specifications), and Test Construction Workshop held from January 9 to 11, 2024. The event aimed to equip faculty with tools to enhance teaching methods and improve student outcomes.
The workshop was conducted on the university campus and brought together instructors from various faculties and extension campuses. Facilitated by the Faculty of Teacher Education (FTEd) members, sessions explored key components of assessments.
The Syllabi Enhancement segment covered approaches to refining course outlines, aligning learning objectives, and integrating innovative teaching methods. Faculty members actively participated in discussions and hands-on activities.
The T.O.S. Development component provided insights into crafting Tables of Specifications. Attendees learned to align assessments with learning objectives for more accurate evaluations.
The Test Construction session equipped faculty with skills to create valid and reliable assessments. Practical tips and examples guided educators in designing effective tests.
The event was made possible through the initiative of Dr. Gemma M. Valdez, the outgoing dean of the Faculty of Teacher Education, and Dr. Helina Jean P. Dupa, the newly designated FTEd Dean.
Furthermore, the workshop reflects DOrSU’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence. (DOrSU PIO)
