Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) has recently conducted a series of benchmarking visits to three state-funded higher education institutions (HEIs) in the region, namely, the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP), Davao del Norte State College (DNSC) and Davao de Oro State College (DDOSC).
The two-day benchmarking activity, held on 13-14 April 2023, aimed to learn about the best practices and processes employed by other HEIs for developing an Information System Strategic Plan (ISSP), crafting the Student Internship Manual, and producing Instructional Materials (IMs).
Led by Dr. Cheryll Bautista, Vice President for Academic Affairs, the DOrSU team consisting of Carlos Jae Soliven, Wilkin Simo, Cindy Lasco, Venson Sarita, Purisima Navarro, and Jeni Nicolas received a warm welcome from the key officials of the benchmarked institutions. Dr. Bautista expressed her appreciation for the gracious reception and highlighted the importance of collaboration among higher education institutions for knowledge and experience sharing.
Benchmarking activities are essential for institutions to learn from each other and improve their practices. By exchanging ideas and best practices, institutions can enhance the quality of education and student services, leading to better learner outcomes. Moreover, these activities facilitate collaboration and partnerships, creating opportunities to work together towards shared goals. With its recent benchmarking, DOrSU hopes to leverage the information and insights gained to improve its operations and ensure the delivery of top-notch services to its stakeholders.
